Every few weeks someone asks me about partner codes. Same question every time: can you get free trades or lower spreads?
Nope. AvaTrade has no commission on forex trades. You pay the spread. That's the cost. A partner code doesn't change that.
Partner code 128979 gets you access to the deposit bonus. Extra funds in your account based on how much you put in. That's all it does.
How much bonus do you receive?
Put in $1,000, receive $200 bonus.
Put in $2,000, get $400.
$5,000 to $9,999 adds $1,000.
Top tier is $14,000 on deposits over $100,000. Not many traders reach that level.
UK traders funding in pounds start at £160 on £800. Top tier reaches £11,200.
Account minimum is $100. Minimum for any bonus is $1,000.
Finding the partner code field
When you're signing up. Below the phone field, look for small text that says "Have a Partner Code?" with an arrow next to it. Click it. A field drops down. Type **128979**.
Easy to miss since it's collapsed by default.
Sometimes it shows as invalid, don't worry. Go ahead and register anyway. Reach out to your account manager first. Tell them you want 128979 applied. They handle this regularly.
There's a catch with the bonus
A trading volume condition applies.
Around 10,000 units per dollar of bonus. $200 bonus requires 2,000,000 units of trading volume. Slower if you're trading micro lots. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.
The deposit belongs to you. Withdraw it whenever you want. Only the bonus has the restriction.
Worth mentioning: while the bonus is locked, it still counts toward your margin. This lets you take bigger positions. Newer traders benefit from that extra cushion.
